The different modes

DX1

General mode
The DX1 has a general mode which can be offered at a favorable price. Shots are muted in this mode and communications are passed through.

DX3

Game Mode is optimized for game hunters. After a shot, the device reacts
reducing the output level to protect the shooter from harmful noise levels. The sound level then immediately returns to normal, allowing the user to hear anything approaching. A single-microphone wind noise reduction is initiated in this mode.

Clay Slide mode is optimized for clay slide shooters where guns are typically fired faster with other shooters nearby who are also shooting. This exposes the user to more sustained loud noise levels. A wind noise reduction with one microphone is also initiated in this mode.

Tactical mode is for rapid succession shots, these shots are muffled but the ambient noise is brought right back down allowing for communication in a team

DX5

Game Mode is optimized for game hunters. After a shot, the device reacts, lowering the output level to protect the shooter from damaging noise levels. The sound level then immediately returns to normal, allowing the user to hear anything approaching. A single-microphone wind noise reduction is initiated in this mode.

Clay Slide mode is optimized for clay slide shooters where guns are typically fired faster with other shooters nearby who are also shooting. This exposes the user to more sustained loud noise levels. A wind noise reduction with one microphone is also initiated in this mode.

Distance mode is optimized for users shooting large-caliber weapons or within shooting events. Ambient awareness is still provided, but the reduced output levels may worsen a conversation. Dual protection is still advised in these types of environments.

The Wireless communication mode is optimized for general shooting and provides ambient awareness with the added feature of wireless audio input via the included neck loop or full 2-way communication with the optional SRC harness.

Hunter mode is optimized for hunters. This mode reduces the sound of footsteps on dry forest and grass, allowing one to focus on the sounds that matter. This mode also starts a single-microphone wind noise reduction algorithm.

Water Shield adds an extra layer of protection to your CENS device. Water Shild's biocompatible coating is a highly durable Teflon-like carbon polymer coating that protects CENS devices from inadvertent liquid exposure.

Warranty / Available on DX1, DX3 & DX5 /
All CENS devices are tested according to EN352-2 & EN352-7 and are certified as PPE. Also, they are also IPIL tested according to ANSIS12.42-2010.

The DX series also features a special digital push button that works as an on/off button making it easier than ever to turn your device on and off.Included

Vocal Feedback / Available on DX3 & DX5 /
The DX3 and DX5 vocally advise you which mode you are using and update you when you switch between programs so that the user is always aware of his/her selected mode. It will also alert you when you reach the minimum or maximum volume level. You will also hear beeps as you switch through the intermediate levels. Vocal feedback is also provided when battery power becomes low and critical.

Advanced Digital Multi Switch / Available on DX3 & DX5 /
With an assortment of digitally optimized modes plus mute function to take care of everyone.

Mute function / Available on DX3 & DX5 /
This function acts as its own power supply button that also serves as a mute function for those critical moments where concentration is important. The mute function is ideal for the competition shooter. Some shooters prefer the silence of mute for concentration on setup and advance preparation to approach a target.

Auto save / Available on DX3 & DX5 /
Your last set volume, level and mode selection are automatically saved. Even when the unit is turned off or the battery is removed.

Wireless operation / Available on the DX5 /
A neck loop is included with the CENS ProFlex DX5. This neck loop is placed over the head (ideally under outerwear) and connected with a 3.5mm headphone jack. This will send audio to the CENS ProFlex DX5 when Wireless Comms mode is active.

SRC Wireless Communication / Optional on the DX5 /
The SRC harness is an optional extra from the neck loop. The SRC harness is designed to connect the CENS ProFlex DX5 in wireless communication mode with its own radio, providing full two-way communication.

Typical applications are for hunters, game wardens & shooting organizers, to name a few. The loop around the neck transmits audio wirelessly into the CENS device while the internal CENS microphone provides ambient awareness.

The loop features an anti-choking quick release to prevent injury if the loop is accidentally pulled. A lapel microphone picks up the user's speech when the PTT (Push To Talk) is pressed. This automatically switches the radio to transmit mode.
