A quieter cabin

A cabin sits at around 80–85 dB(A) for hours on end. Custom flight earplugs take the engine drone out without cutting you off — announcements and conversation stay clear. The standard filter attenuates SNR 19 dB.

What a pressure-regulating filter does — and doesn’t

The membrane in our filter lets a pressure change through more slowly, so many travellers feel less pressure in the ear canal. But the pain on take-off and landing comes from the middle ear, behind the eardrum, where it is cleared through the Eustachian tube. No earplug reaches that. Less pressure sensation is realistic; “no more ear pain” is not a promise we make.

What does help against ear pain

Swallow, yawn and chew gum on descent; equalise gently (pinch your nose, blow softly); use a nasal balloon if that fails — it has the strongest evidence behind it; consider a decongestant before descent in consultation with your pharmacist or GP; and avoid flying with a heavy cold if you can.

Please note: don’t wear earplugs with an ear infection, grommets or just after ear surgery. If your ears stay blocked or painful after the flight, see your GP — we make hearing protection, not diagnoses.

During your appointment we take an impression of your ears; it is painless and takes only a few minutes.
Based on that impression your set is produced, finished and checked to measure in our own lab.
