The new Audinc Impulse filter is specially designed to reduce sudden noise peaks and transmit them to the inner ear. As a result, the wearer is protected when needed, but can still hear optimally at other times.
The filter provides a constant noise reduction of approximately 17dB, increasing to a maximum of 33dB when activated by sudden loud noises. The small size of the Impulse filters makes them unobtrusive and comfortable to wear, and they fit easily under communicating headsets or ear muffs where dual protection is needed.
Developed for military use, the Impulse filter protects hearing from the impulsive sounds of nail guns, drop hammers and rivets, among others. Designed to allow air to enter the ear, this unique filter technology maintains the spaciousness and direction of sound needed while working in construction. Unlike competitive products, this ventilation minimizes the occlusion effect and reduces ear canal irritation, maximizing user comfort and reducing ear infections and infections.
The Impulse filter has undergone full environmental testing for humidity, hot and cold temperatures, 12-hour comfort and sandstorms. Fully washable with water and normal detergents, the Impulse is suitable for all outdoor and indoor conditions. The Impulse ANSI IPIL certified impulse protection is up to 33.1 dB.
An Audinc Impulse custom Click variant of the filter is also available. In this position, the filter continuously attenuates SNR -28 dB. In the open position, it retains the properties of the Impulse filter.

As a hobby handyman, I often have to deal with loud noises from machines. I used to protect my ears with ear muffs, but I would get discomfort from the muffs. The earplugs are small andblock out noises.
