Although Carnival doesn”t officially kick off until February 2026, there”s a good chance you already celebrated it yesterday (11 November). And besides a hangover, you may have woken up with another unwelcome side effect: an annoying ringing or buzzing in your ears. This is the result of exposure to loud noise, and it often goes hand in hand with hearing damage. The good news is that we can help you avoid that ringing from now on.

You”ve probably heard it before: too much exposure to loud noise can cause hearing damage. Or tinnitus, the condition in which you constantly hear a sound that isn”t actually there. That last one in particular is extremely unpleasant, and it”s affecting more and more young people.

One of the places where many people develop hearing damage is at events with loud music. It”s not just about how loud the music is, but also about how long you”re exposed to it. Standing in a noisy bar for five minutes usually won”t do much harm. Spend three hours straight in that same bar, though, and it”s a different story.

One of the events that really puts your ears to the test is Carnival, because people sometimes spend days on end surrounded by noise. With all the consequences for your hearing that come with it.

Custom earplugs: a pleasant solution

Fortunately, there”s an answer. Wearing custom-made earplugs will keep your ears protected, and they come with other benefits too. Most custom earplugs contain a special filter. This filter dampens the high frequencies while still allowing you to follow conversations, for example. In some cases you”ll even hear them better, depending on the filter. Ideal and comfortable for people who love a good, sociable atmosphere.

Pure Tones and Custom Music

Worried that earplugs will keep you from hearing the music at its best? With our Pure Tones earplugs, you don”t need to be. They contain a special linear filter that distorts the music as little as possible. There are even users who claim they hear the music better with Pure Tones, though this is probably because the music comes through less loudly with earplugs in. Whenever something is sitting in your ear, the sound will always be distorted to some degree, but with our Pure Tones that”s kept to a minimum.

If you”re not so focused on the music, our Custom Music earplugs may be a better choice. This product doesn”t offer the high-end sound experience of the Pure Tones, but it provides the same protection. On top of that, you can later switch to a Pure Tones filter (for a small additional fee).

Our current delivery time is just over three weeks. That might sound a little long, but if you have your earplugs fitted in 2025, you”ll still receive them well before Carnival.
