How much do the earplugs attenuate?

How much your earplugs attenuate depends on the chosen filter and the material. Below are the official SNR values (Single Number Rating) according to EN 352-2, as stated in the official manual.

Custom earplugs (music, motorcycling, work)

Soft (silicone):

• Medium – SNR 17 dB

• Strong – SNR 26 dB

• Ludicrous (click) – SNR 28 dB

Hard (acrylic):

• Medium – SNR 19 dB

• Strong – SNR 31 dB

• Ludicrous (click) – SNR 34 dB

Pure Tones

• Low – SNR 10 dB *

• Medium – SNR 16 dB

• Strong – SNR 19 dB

• Extreme – SNR 23 dB

* The Low filter attenuates too little to be CE-certified as hearing protection and is therefore not listed in the official manual. For certified protection, choose at least the Medium filter.

Impulse (shooting sports & impulse noise)

• Impulse filter – SNR 21 dB. With impulse sounds (shots, bangs) the attenuation instantly rises to 34 dB (IPIL, measured at 164 dB).
