From what age can you get earplugs fitted?

We are often asked if Audinc also fits earplugs to children. And if so, from what age we do this.

There is no minimum age requirement, but generally, measurements are appropriate for children as young as 4 years old.

Although other factors also come into play. For example, it is important that the child can sit still and that the ear canal is large enough. So it could be that we advise against fitting some 5-year-old children. Or we may find a 3-year-old child suitable for a fitting. In any case, we are extra careful and advise against it under certain circumstances.

Are you considering equipping your child with hearing protection? If so, please get in touch and we’ll see what’s possible together.

Also, it is good to know that the ears of young children grow faster than those of adults. A set of earplugs may not last as long on a 7-year-old child as someone 27 years old.
